How to reach Pizzo
By AIR
Pizzo is served by the International Airport of Lamezia Terme (SUF), located about 25 km from the historical centre. There are several direct flights from/to European cities all year round and some intercontinental flights from spring to autumn. In addition, there are many daily national flights, especially from/to Rome and Milan. Most accommodation providers in Pizzo organise pick-up services. Alternatively, you can take a taxi, a bus or the train (see section “by TRAIN”). Finally, you can rent a car at the airport if you are interested in exploring Calabria from your base in Pizzo (see section “by CAR”).
By TRAIN
Pizzo is served by two train stations. The main station is Vibo Valentia – Pizzo (about 4 km from the venue). Fast trains (Frecce) and Intercity trains coming from Milan, Genoa, Rome, Naples, and other Italian cities stop at this station. In addition, some trains coming from “Lamezia Terme Centrale” station stop here. A shuttle service ensures frequent connections between Airport of Lamezia Terme and Lamezia Terme Centrale. The second station, named Pizzo, is located at the end of Pizzo Marina (about 1.5 km from the venue). Mainly local trains stop at this station. Recently, service “Tropea Express” has been included in the offer of Trenitalia. Local train “Tropea Express” begins its run from Lamezia Terme Centrale and stops at Pizzo station and at other stations located in beautiful localities on the “Costa degli Dei” like Zambrone, Parghelia, and Tropea.
Timetables and additional information on national and local trains are available on the webpage of Trenitalia.
By CAR
