Venue

The workshop venue is a small fortress in Pizzo, known as Castle Murat. The final version of the fortress dates back to the second half of the 15th century, when Ferdinand I of Aragon completed the fortification process of the coastal town started by the Angevins. The building has a massive quadrangular body and two cylindrical corner towers. It is named for Joachim Murat, brother-in-law of Napoleon Bonaparte and king of Naples, captured in Pizzo and sentenced to death in 1815. Currently, Castle Murat is used as a museum and represents the main attraction in the historical centre.
